St Kevin's College
A Coeducational, Secondary, Day and Boarding School at Redcastle, Ōamaru
Edmund Rice and Dominican Education in the Catholic Tradition
Family, Integrity, Respect and Excellence are our Values
On behalf of my staff, our students and myself I would like to warmly welcome you to
St Kevin’s College
St Kevin’s College is a coeducational Catholic College set on fifty three acres in beautiful Oamaru. Although it began as a boy's school in 1927, it has changed and developed over the years to meet the needs of an ever changing world, respecting tradition whilst reaching with courage towards the future.
Our College prides itself on a relational culture that is underpinned by our Catholic faith.
As ‘people of faith-filled fire’ we embrace the values of Family, Integrity, Respect and Excellence as the cornerstone of all that we do.
As a Family, we have a robust pastoral system that uses Restorative Practices to support students when they have made mistakes or when they are in need.
As a community of Integrity, we expect students to do their best academically, culturally and on the sports fields not just in what they do, but in how they do it.
As a Respectful community, we strive to teach our students to appreciate other perspectives in their academic understanding of the ‘big ideas of the world', in their social interactions and in looking at decisions from historical contexts.
As a community of Excellence, we encourage our students to strive to be the best versions of themselves so that they can take their place in the world as well- rounded, compassionate and educated young people.
It is my privilege to lead this wonderful college. I extend a warm welcome to prospective students to come and explore the school and hostel and experience what we have to offer.
I also warmly invite our past staff and students to visit us at any time and to join our Alumni and Foundation groups.
God Bless
