𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 - 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐩𝐬

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭 𝐊𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞? 
Last year in my studies, I had a placement here at St Kevin’s. I was so impressed by the environment of the school: the attitude of the students, the staffroom community, and the pastoral care and restorative practice. I loved the grounds, the rural feel and the faith-based environment. I feel very lucky to be back now as an official member of the school. 

𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞? 
I am originally from Milton, where I attended Tokomairiro High School. I really loved the opportunities where I could get involved with my little community throughout school. From high school, I went to Otago University where I did my Undergraduate, then Masters, and now I’m back at high school! This time on the other side with the teachers. 

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮? 
Well I’m not very interesting, and I have no secrets. No surprises here. 

𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞? 
Empathetic, creative, universal. 

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥? 
I love the water - particularly a good beach or lake to jump into on a hot day. I love the arts: to write, to read, or to watch a good period drama. 
And I’m always on the hunt for a new place to eat good food and chin-wag with friends! 

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫? 
Don’t be too hard on yourself, and it’s so okay not to know what you want to do with your life. But at the same time, find your passion and search out the opportunities within that.
