My fondest memory at St Kevin's:
My fondest memory of St Kevin’s was definitely the vibe it gave my high school years. It was always a nice place to be, I enjoyed the family aspect it provided and overall I’d say I had a lot of fun at high school! My best friends at St Kevin’s are still my best friends now, and I think that says a lot about the quality of the people and time spent there.
What made you choose your profession?
In high school, I took subjects based on the fact that I really enjoyed them and have carried on that mentality with my decision-making throughout life. I think photography simply sparked my interest and it went from there!
How has your profession changed over the years?
While studying photography, and for a couple of years after - I worked at whole-foods stores and small cafes - being a foodie!
Slowly my photography work began to outweigh my employment, and just recently I have left yet another job to work 6 out of the 7 days as self-employed!
Extra info:
My partner and I are building our first home, very exciting stuff!
In my spare time, I love visiting Otematata for a hike, swim, boating you name it.
I also love the out-of-town work I get with photography, I feel so lucky I get to travel and stay in beautiful locations to photograph people's happiest days.
Challenges for students:
I always found the art of juggling school work, sports, socialising and my job hard and I know that still stands for students today. Now there is definitely the threat of covid to put a halt on all of the above, however, my fingers are crossed this will pass for everybody!
Funny story:
Not so much a funny story, but I remember the house performances usually had awesome humour in them! Some very funny students!
