* The tuition fee is to be paid by all students each year. This includes all subject fees (except photography and art), ESOL Examination Fees, School magazine, airport pickup from Christchurch or Dunedin on arrival in New Zealand and New Zealand Government taxes.

** The contingency fund is used to pay sports fees, external examination fees, stationery, field trips, cultural fees, travel in holidays and other such items.

Personal Expenses
  • Personal expenses are not covered by the school fees. The school does provide for students to run a school account for personal items but this account must be paid by the parents or caregivers. The contingency fund of $1,800 is usually enough to cover this account but sometimes students have expenses in excess of this.
  • Some subjects such as photography, art and graphics require materials that need extra payment.
  • Holiday home-stay fees cover only modest transport costs.  If a Student wishes to travel a long distance, or internationally, this cost must be met by the parent.
  • Holiday home-stay payment is an estimate because some students may require a home-stay outside holiday time. For example to stay in Christchurch before a flight, an extra weekend away, or nights away with a sports team.
  • Students must pay for their own clothes, shoes, sports uniforms etc over and above the $1500 allowed.
  • Stationery, toiletries, entertainment, school trips, visa, airfares etc are personal expenses.
  • Home-stay students must provide their own toiletries and personal items.
  • Pocket money—this is a separate issue. If parents wish to pay extra money into the student’s school account, the school is then able to arrange for a weekly amount (stipulated by parents) paid into the student’s personal bank account here in New Zealand. The school will assist the student to set up this personal account and obtain their cash card for this, soon after their arrival.
